Prof. (Dr.) Saranjit Singh completed his Ph.D. (Production Engg) from BIT Mesra, Ranchi, M.Tech. (Production Engg) from IIT Varanasi (Formerly IT BHU) and B.E. (Mechanical Engg) from Savitribai Phule Pune University. His teaching & research areas of interest are material processing technologies, metal forming of sintered, cellular, foam, polymer and metal matrix composites, competitive manufacturing strategies, cleaner manufacturing technologies, DFX methodologies, quality engineering and quality management. He had guided 5 Ph.D scholars and 25 Master’s Dissertation and had published / presented more than 100 research articles in the international & national journals, conferences and seminars. He has published 3 books in the area of material processing technologies and is also Fellow of Institution of Engineers (India). He served as Director (Industry Engagements) and Dean (Training & Placements) since 2011 at KIIT. He is a Former Dean of School of Mechanical Engg at KIIT from 2009 to 2011. Prior to this, he served BIT Mesra, Ranchi as Assoc. Professor in Dept. of Production Engg. Currently, he is also Professor at School of Mechanical Engg, KIIT.

Prof. Adwaita Gadanayak
Director General

    1. Shri Adwaita Charan Gadanayak is a renowned Indian sculptor, celebrated for his significant contributions to the world of art. His work, spanning several decades, has earned him a prominent reputation both in India and globally. He is widely acclaimed for his mastery in crafting sculptures that reflect the depth of Indian culture, spirituality, and heritage. Among the numerous accolades and honours he has received, the Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian award, stands as a testament to his exceptional impact on the field of art.
    2. Born in 1964 in Odisha, India, Adwaita Gadanayak’s formative years were deeply influenced by the indigenous arts and traditions of Indian sculpture. Gadanayak pursued formal training in fine arts and sculpture at prestigious institutions both in India and abroad. His dedication to his craft grew stronger as he delved deeper into India’s rich tradition of sculptural art, which is rooted in religious iconography and cultural history.
      Gadanayak’s work is deeply rooted in classical Indian sculptural traditions,
      but his modern approach adds a universal appeal to his creations. His ability to blend traditional themes with contemporary aesthetics has set him apart from many of his contemporaries.
      Drawing inspiration from Hindu mythology and India’s diverse cultural heritage, he is known for creating abstract sculptures, demonstrating his versatility in conceptual art forms.
    3. Among his most celebrated works is the Police Memorial in New Delhi, which exemplifies his conceptual approach to sculpture. This abstract creation explores the divine, the eternal, and the cosmic, offering a glimpse into the spiritual philosophies that have influenced Indian thought for centuries.
    4. As the Director General of the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA), Gadanayak has led the institution with a visionary approach from 2016 to 2022. Under his guidance, NGMA has undertaken several national projects of great significance, including the unveiling of the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose statue at Kartavya Path. His leadership has been instrumental in shaping the future of India’s art landscape. Other highlight projects include E-Auction of Prime Minister’s Mementos, Commissioner of the India Pavilion at Venice 2019 under the auspices of 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Major exhibitions under BRICS alliance in China and exhibitions in collaborations with art institutions and museums from Japan, Australia, Israel, South Korea, France, Germany, Slovenia, Sri-Lanka, Italy, South Africa, Portugal and more.
    5. One of the standout achievements during Adwaita Gadanayak’s tenure as Director General of the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) was the successful renovation of Jaipur House, the gallery’s iconic headquarters in New Delhi. Under Gadanayak’s visionary leadership, the renovation project revitalized this historic building, blending its rich heritage with modern aesthetics, making it a beacon of India’s artistic future. This strategic revamp of Jaipur House not only bolstered NGMA’s capacity to display world-class exhibitions but also ensured that the gallery remained a key player in shaping the discourse around Indian and global art in the 21st century.

Dr. Sushanta Tripathy

Dr. Sushanta Tripathy is currently working as a Dean at the School of Design in KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, India. He has completed his PhD from the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He has over 30 years of teaching, research and industry experience in India and abroad. He has published more than 100+ papers in national and international conferences and journals. He is also the editorial member of six reputed international journal. His major areas of interest include production operations management, multivariate analysis, service operations management, supply chain management and quality management. He is a Fellow of Institution of Engineers, India.

Dr. Sai Prasad Ojha
Assistant Professor

Dr. Sai Prasad Ojha hold a Ph.D. in User Experience Design from IIT Guwahati (Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati), Assam; M.Tech. in CIMA (Computer Integrated Manufacturing and Automation) from NERIST (North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology), Itanagar and B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from ITER (Institute of Technical Education and Research), Bhubaneswar. Prior to joining School of Design, KIIT University, he was with Jain University an Associate Professor, Dr. Ojha had wide range of experience as Assistant Professor at MIT group of institutions (MIT-ADT, Loni Kalbhor-Pune; Avantika University. Ujjain and MIT-WPU, Kothrud, Pune) in User Experience Design Department. He was coordinating the User Experience Design Branch both in Jain University as well as MIT WPU, Pune.
During his Ph.D. Dr. Ojha has worked on bridging the gap between traditional Crafts and modern Digital technology. He has presented his works in various national and international conferences. Dr. Ojha has worked in various projects during his tenure as Research Assistant at Ideas Lab, CPDM, IISc. Bangalore. He was also working in HAL, Sunabeda-2, Engine division as Apprenticeship Trainee in Tool Room, Gear Section, Assembly Section and Inspection Section.
He is a member of ‘The Design Society’, U.K., and has been a member in different BOS meetings of  various Design Schools. He has also been invited as a Jury member for the UX courses at different Design Schools.

Deepak Singal
Assistant Professor

Deepak Singhal is an assistant professor-II in the School of Design of KIIT University, Bhubaneswar.He holds his a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering from Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Jabalpur. He completed his PhD in the area of Industrial engineering. His research interests include decision modelling, sustainability in supply chain. He has published the research papers in various reputed Journals like “International Journal of Production Research”, “Resource, Conservation and Recycling”,“Management Decision”, “Sustainable Production and Consumption”.

Dr. Bighna Kalyan Nayak

Dr. Bighna Kalyan Nayak is a design professional with a Master’s in Industrial Design and a Ph.D. in Design. His research focuses on the intersection of quantitative and qualitative research, aesthetics, cognitive ergonomics, usability testing, gamification, and design thinking. Possessing skills in parametric and non-parametric modeling, generative design, and prototyping, he is dedicated to advancing human-centered design solutions.

Dr. Swayam Bikash Mishra
Assistant Professor

Dr. Swayam Bikash Mishra has joined as an Assistant Professor II in the School of Design of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), deemed to be University. He has received his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) award from National Institute of Technology in January 2016. He has two years of industrial experience and 7 years of teaching experience including post-doctoral experiences. His research includes heat transfer through pin-fin apparatus, Artificial Intelligent, Rapid Prototyping, Rapid Manufacturing and Additive Manufacturing. He has published several research papers on some reputed journals and applied for Patents also.
